IRONBARK
LOCATION:
Ironbark is an Australian Hardwood.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
Ironbark has dense, hard, tight interlocking grain that is subject to some movement, so it can get small cracks in it.
COLOUR:
Ironbark colour varies from Pale Brown to Dark Chocolate and is also sometimes Dark Red.
JARRAH
LOCATION:
Jarrah is an Australian Hardwood that grows in Western Australia.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
The grain is straight and often slightly interlocked. Growth rings can be prominent and the texture is moderately coarse and even.
COLOUR:
The heartwood is dark red, with the Sapwood usually being a pale yellow.
AMERICAN WALNUT
LOCATION:
Is an Australian Hardwood.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
Grain is usually straight, but can be irregular. Has a medium texture and moderate natural luster.
COLOUR:
Heartwood ranges from a lighter pale brown to a dark chocolate brown with darker brown streaks. Sapwood is pale yellow-gray to nearly white. Figured grain patterns such as curl, crotch, and burl are also seen.
ROCK MAPLE
LOCATION:
Is an Australian Hardwood.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
Straight and fine grain.
COLOUR:
EURO BEECH
LOCATION:
Is an Australian Hardwood.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
The grain is usually straight. The qtr cut surface reveals dark flecks against a lighter background. The texture is fine and even.
COLOUR:
The heartwood is pale brown and the sapwood is not allways distinguishable from the heartwood.
NG Vitex
LOCATION:
Is an Australian Hardwood.
GRAIN TEXTURE:
Vitex or NG Teak is a durable hardwood known for it’s strength, fine texture and resistance to decay.
COLOUR:
The heartwood varies from pale yellow to light brown.
